Company level impact:
Biggest impact to Twitch is the adoption rate. The adoption rate of DART is now extremely high since there’s a vast majority of teams now using DART because of the front-end UI and its new capabilities. DART is now creating more messages in one week than it used to in a quarter across multiple teams.
Since we changed entirely how campaigns are created, almost all campaigns are now run by PMMs, marketers and Product Managers – this means that we no longer need any engineering resources to create custom codes for everyones campaigns.
Introducing variant testing was huge – users can now modify campaigns in a matter of minutes instead of days.
Product level impact:
DART users can now see the performance of their campaigns, see which ones are actually working vs. not. Adding goals to a campaign is also new; and users can measure their campaigns against a goal that was set. This impact was significant because users can see their campaigns in a true cycle where they can test, measure, and iterate.
The actual campaign creation flow has changed entirely; where users can now create messages and an entire campaign all in the same flow and not different ones. This change now makes it easier and faster for users to create campaigns and send tests. This change also makes it significantly easier for multiple people to work on the same campaign since there’s only one source of truth. This also allowed us to completely eliminate the need for Eng resources!
