Users can now chat with others taking part in the same challenge. I wanted the design to accommodate thread-like chat behavior.
Non-essential elements are hidden on the UI when the user is actively chatting. This way, the user doesn't feel a space constraint in the UI.
Each menu item has a limited behavior, which is why I opted for an animated, on screen menu.
